A Little about the Plantronics 835 Bluetooth!

February 12th, 2009

The 835 is a great looking headset. It’s very lightweight and the sound quality is actually pretty good. Not only does it look good, but it’s also a good performer! I’m not sure if it blocks out quite as much background noise as the Plantronics Voyager 510, but it’s certainly a lot sleeker looking and not as bulky. Another cool feature is that the Plantronics 835 has multipoint technology, this lets you pair your headset to two different devices at the same time. So that lets me use the headset on my cell and also on my PC for SKYPE (PC must have Bluetooth or you need a Bluetooth USB adapter to connect to the computer). The 835 also has h hours of talk tim, which is even more than most cell phones. So that means you can spend less time charging and mor time using…And that’s always a good thing!

A Little About the Plantronics CS55!!!

February 12th, 2009

The Plantronics CS55 is a really great system, and the fact that it has a convertible headset that comes with a headband as well as an earloop is what makes it one of Plantronics’ most popular wireless systems. Now keep in mind that you will need the optional Plantronics HL10 Handset Lifter for one-touch remote answering when you are away from your phone, you will probably want to check out compatibility. And since the CS55 runs on a 1.9GHz voice dedicated frequency, it is not likely to pick up interference from any other device like some other models that run on 900MHz and 2.4GHz. And because of the popularity of the CS55, Plantronics even made another version to be used at home with single line cordless phones, called the CS55H Home Edition (no handset lifer required, it’s just touch…and go). The CS55 is an awesome system and it’s easy to see why it’s a fan favorite among our customers!!

Plantronics Headsets and the Mitel Factor…

February 9th, 2009

If you are using already using Plantronics corded headsets on your Mitel phones (like the SuperSet models), chances are, you are using one of the Plantronics Polaris headsets. When using a Polaris headset on certain Mitel phones, you used to be able to buy an optional in-line mute switch (43548-01) and it would let you answer a call just by the flick of a switch. Well, we can’t do that anymore with the current headsets and cords… Since the Polaris line of headsets was discontinued, you would now use any of the Plantronics H-series headsets along with an A10 cord, which will connect the headset to the phone. For example, if you had the Polaris P251 headset the current equivalent would be the H251 & the A10 cord. So, H251 + A10 = P251. And for most phone applications where the Polaris headsets were used, the current H-series and A10 works great just like the Polaris headsets. However, the H-series headsets and A10 cord combinations are not 100% exactly like the Polaris headsets when it comes to the circuitry. So if you have an H-series headset and an A10 cord, the circuitry in the A10 cord will not let you use the mute switch to answer and hang up… You will have to use the headset button on the telephone. And on the technical side, this issue has to do with the fact that the volume increase is now in the cord instead of the headset, like the old Polaris, so the switch does not create the break in power use (the switch being on the wrong side of the power module). Hopefully this sheds a little light on the subject and is informative. And just remember like that old saying “Those who can’t do, teach.” “Well those who find out things the hard way, blog.”

The Plantronics Discovery 925…….Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman!

February 5th, 2009

This headset really is like a piece of jewelry with it’s V frame and designer colors, which even includes a color coordinated carry / charging case. Not only is this headset one of the most stylish headsets on the market today, but it is also one of the best sounding headsets out there. And it’s so lightweight that you will forget that it is even on your ear. I was also very pleased with the gel ear tips on the 925, they are much softer, and in my opinion, much more comfortable than the gel tips on some of the older models. And also when buying the replacement ear tips for the 925 you can choose either small, medium or large, unlike the ear tips on the older models where you can only buy a pack that contains all 3 sizes instead of just the ones that you actually want. And this is just a little extra perk, but most of us only wear one size… so when we find the size that fits, we don’t need the other sizes. And I haven’t heard the rumor about the Purple and White 925, but I do know that Plantronics is planning on having a couple of “pastel” colors out for spring. We are very anxious to see what the next set of colors will be, there is supposed to be around twelve 925 designer colors in all. But I think that Plantronics will only release two colors at a time, like in 2008 we had the “Cerise” hot pink, and the “Gold” models available. So the only negative thing that I can really say about the Discovery 925 is that because they are such an awesome headset… You may just have to buy all of the colors

Plantronics 855

February 5th, 2009

Whether you are talking on the phone or listening to music, the Plantronics 855 is a great little diverse Bluetooth Headset. The 855 lets you easily switch in mere seconds between using it on one ear for a quick call or both ears for a stereo effect. the 855′s sound-isolating earbuds help to seal out external noise, and the sliding boom brings your voice closer to the microphone. The 855 also has multi point technology which lets you connect the headset to two different devices at the same time, and it has 7 hours of talk time. If you have a music capable phone, you will enjoy this headset!
