I have a a Plantronics HW261N headset and would like to know if I can use it on the T10? When I tried it I could not make a call out and got a funny noise, I was told I could but now I am not sure if I have to do something to the phone or not.

Usually you can answer a call just by pressing the button on the headset, you may need to configure the "Automatic Off-Hook Preference feature" in the telephone menu. Once you configure the telephone "Auto Off Hook" for the headset (go through options, auto off hook, headset), hopefully this will fix the situation. Please consult your user guide or phone person if you are not sure how to configure.

Typically that integration is done within the dispatch console itself, and you would then use a 6-wire push to talk dispatch console amplifier such as the SHS1890-15 with any of the Plantronics H-series headsets to toggle between your phone calls and the dispatch radio. Some dispatch consoles even have a switch that lets you choose between the regular 4-wire and the 6-wire push to talk configuration. You will want to consult with either your IT person or the company that installed your dispatch consoles on how to integrate the two.

We have several headset options that are compatible with the Avaya 4610SW IP phone, you did not specify what type of wearing style would be preferred or if you were looking for corded or wireless, so here are both options.

As far as corded, you can use any of the "H-series" headsets and you would need the HIC cable to connect the headset to the telephone. The HW251 headset goes over the head and covers one ear, or you could go with the H141 headset which gives you the option to wear it over the head or over the ear, it includes a headband and an earloop (if it will be used in a loud area, you would want to get the noise canceling models - HW251N, H141N). Just remember that whichever corded headset you choose, you will also need the HIC cord (model 49323-44).

As far as wireless headsets, we have the Plantronics Savi WO100 and WO200 on sale right now which is the best deal. The WO100 is convertible which includes the headband and an earloop, so it can be worn either way. The WO200 goes over the ear and it has an earbud that goes in the ear. The Savi promotion that we have going on right now ($250 each, regular price is $358) includes the HL10 Handset Lifter for remote one touch answering, and is while supplies last.
