A: According to our compatibility guide and research, the Cisco 7912 does not have a dedicated headset port on the phone, so it does not support a direct-connect headest like the HW261N-CIS, which comes with the connecting cable. It will require an Audio processor (amplifier) like the M22 or AP15. You can use the HW261N (same as the CIS model but without the connecting cable) with either of the two audio processors.

Plantronics presents groundbreaking, simplified IP technology that achieves outstanding voice quality and reduces desktop cost. Our new IP40 IP-based audio processor plugs directly into the Ethernet, so agents do not need an IP desk phone or soft phone to place and receive calls. Unlike a soft phone, the IP40 guarantees audio quality because the voice path is independent of the PC. Any Plantronics H-series headsets that will be compatible with the IP40.
